At Omaha HAVEN we strive to assist families in transitioning between public and home-school settings and provide opportunities for Latter-Day Saint home-school families and their friends to connect in meaningful ways. Everyone is welcome to utilize this resource and participate in activities as we each seek to fulfill our divine charge--to build families that are respectful, educated, compassionate, faith-filled contributors to a civil society.

Educational Philosophies:

Behavior management:

"Love & Logic Magic for Early Childhood" by Jim Fay and Charles Fay

"Parenting With Love & Logic" by Foster Cline and Jim Fay

"A House United" by Nicholeen Peck

Time management:

Katie Burton's Sample Daily Schedule (I chose to fill out a week's worth in advance. Usually this happened on Friday's to prep for the next week.)

Katie Burton's Sample Weekly Checklist (I made these unique to each child based on their needs.)

Technology Management - Protecting Kids Online:

Protecting Children Online - This is a wonderful video which provides several ideas for helping our children stay safe online. This video comes from The group "Protect Young Eyes", another great tech resource.
